Abstract
The interest of the project to expand the opportunities of cocoa producers is presented so that they could increase their income through the transformation of added value, for this a model of development of the value chain and commitment of rural women in the Dominican Republic, which was evaluated for use in the development of a generic business model, that is, a shared template for possible adoption in other regions. Finally, it is observed as a result the business model provided a guide for the successful operation of a cocoa processing company. In addition, a study of the Canadian market to guide organizations that wish to export their products.
