O objetivo principal deste estudo foi analisar alternativas aos fertilizantes químicos para gramíneas no setor de bioinsumos brasileiros, com foco na identificação das principais tecnologias consolidadas e inovadoras. O intuito foi fornecer subsídios para a implementação de estratégias e políticas públicas que promovam o uso de bioinsumos associados à fixação biológica de nitrogênio (N) e à solubilização de fósforo (P) e potássio (K), contribuindo para a redução da dependência nacional de fertilizantes importados e para o desenvolvimento de uma agricultura de baixo carbono. A metodologia incluiu três levantamentos principais: (1) produtos bioinsumos comercializados no Brasil, à base de microrganismos com função de fixação de nitrogênio ou solubilização de fósforo e potássio; (2) patentes de bioinsumos da mesma natureza registradas no país; e (3) artigos científicos publicados por grupos de pesquisa brasileiros. Os resultados incluem a classificação dos bioinsumos identificados, os principais atores envolvidos, as aplicações, formas de uso e benefícios dos bioinsumos, bem como estimativas de redução no uso de fertilizantes nitrogenados (kg/ha) e de emissões de gases de efeito estufa (em kg de N2O e CO2 equivalente/ha), baseadas em indicadores do IPCC (2006 e 2014). O estudo conclui que o uso de bioinsumos para gramíneas apresenta potencial significativo para reduzir tanto a dependência de fertilizantes convencionais quanto as emissões de gases de efeito estufa, além de gerar benefícios econômicos e ambientais no contexto da agricultura brasileira.
