Abstract
Se muestra el trabajo conjunto del Instituto de Investigaciones Agropecuarias (INIA) y el Instituto Interamericano de Cooperación para la Agricultura (IICA) para promover el cultivo climáticamente inteligente del arroz, mediante el método de cultivo intensificado del arroz (SRI). Este nuevo enfoque reduce significativamente el uso de agua de riego y permite que las plantas se desarrollen de manera más vigorosa y resistente a las bajas temperaturas. Los grupos de innovación participativa (GIP) han avanzado rápidamente en la adopción de esta técnica a través de reuniones, días de campo y experimentos durante los últimos dos años.
