In Mexico, the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), in collaboration with the Secretariat for Agriculture and Rural Development (SADER), has made significant progress in strengthening agriculture and water management. Through projects such as the rehabilitation of water infrastructure in Nuevo León and the "Living Soils of the Americas" initiative, rural communities, ejidatarios and families have benefited, promoting governance and resilience to climate change. In addition, territorial plans have been developed in several states to improve environmental management and adaptation to climate change. IICA has also promoted the training of entrepreneurs in rural areas for the creation of cooperatives and social enterprises, strengthening capacities in several states. We have also collaborated in studies of bioeconomic potential in the egg value chain in Jalisco, promoting bio-business models and providing technical support. In the area of agri-food innovation, projects have been implemented in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec to promote production chains such as corn, fruit, coffee and livestock, generating a three-year action plan and promoting innovative technologies in the region. These actions have strengthened cooperation between public and private actors, contributing to sustainable development and economic revitalization with a territorial approach. Collaboration between IICA, SADER and other stakeholders has been fundamental in promoting sustainable agriculture, innovation and resilience in Mexico, benefiting rural communities and strengthening the country's position as a global food producer and exporter.
