Abstract
Destaca la importancia de la participación de los agricultores en el proceso de investigación en sistemas de producción y en la transferencia de tecnología. Analiza el por qué de la participación; qué se entiende por participación de los productores; y la participación necesaria del productor en ciertas etapas del proceso de investigación, a saber: diagnóstico y diseño de experimentos. Señala y explica los indicadores para reconocer si hay una participación activa de los productores en investigación a nivel de finca; las principales dificultades para lograr la participación; así como las ventajas de la participación del productor en la mayoría de las etapas de investigación: diagnóstico, diseño, experimentación y validación.
