Résumé
Mr. Bryan Smith, Agriculture Specialist at the Jamaica Social Investment Fund explains the principles of composting, the steps in setting up a compost pile, as well as the composting process. Mr. Smith also delves into some of the properties and other uses of compost. Mr. Mario Lewis, Co-Founder of INIPSIS Ltd. Discusses food waste recycling methods and technologies for households through composting, some of the common challenges experienced when setting up a compost pile, and some necessary measures that can be implemented to avoid and/or address these challenges and the four important combinations of elements [Water, Heat, Air, Time (WHAT)] required to produce good quality compost.
