Las organizaciones privadas de desarrollo y la transferencia de tecnología en el agro hondureño

El documento se refiere a un ensayo que analiza los esfuerzos de las Organizaciones Privadas de Desarrollo (OPDs) en el campo agrícola en Honduras. Hay 66 OPDs en Honduras con proyectos agrícolas, que entregan servicios a aproximadamente 50 000 beneficiarios directos que significa un 15 por ciento de los productores del país. La metodología del estudio incluyó una encuesta formal a 61 OPDs, visitas de campo a 20 de ellas, revisión de literatura y se entrevistaron informantes clases en COSUDE, FAO, FOPRIDEH y POSTCOSECHA. El ensayo está organizado en cinco secciones: 1) aspectos institucionales; 2) metodología de trabajo; 3) oferta tecnológica; 4) vínculos entre OPDs y con el Estado, y 5) conclusiones. Con esto las OPDs han logrado un impacto positivo sobre la producción agropecuaria y nivel de vida de muchos beneficiarios. Tres factores principales han restringido que el impacto de la OPDs y la carencia de una labor sistemática de reflexión; y la debilidad de la oferta tecnológica y de los mecanismos para identificar, generar o validar nuevas opciones tecnológicas. Agrega finalmente, que el éxito del campo agrícola dependerá de la capacidad de sistematizar e intercambiar experiencias y mejorar el acceso a fuentes de tecnología mediante estudios, capacitación y fortalecimiento a la Comisión Agrícola de FOPRIDEH.
