The agriculture of MERCOSUR: past, present and future
Abstract
This paper analyzes the evolution of MERCOSUR and its impact on agricutural trade. The first section discusses the formation of MERCOSUR by Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay, highlighting the institutional reforms and trade policies implemented. The second section examines agricultural trade patterns of the major commodity groupings, identifyting products that experienced sustained growth and those which did not. (MV)
