En Colombia, el Instituto Interamericano de Cooperación para la Agricultura (IICA) ha llevado a cabo una serie de proyectos destinados a fortalecer las capacidades de los productores agropecuarios en diversos territorios. Estos proyectos abarcan áreas como la calidad del maíz, la bioseguridad en musáceas y la resistencia antimicrobiana. Se destacan iniciativas como la construcción de un sistema de gestión de inocuidad para la cadena de maíz en varios departamentos, beneficiando a más de 1000 productores, y la capacitación en prevención de enfermedades en plátanos, beneficiando a más de 560 agricultores. Además, se han fortalecido capacidades institucionales en temas como la resistencia antimicrobiana y la gestión de plaguicidas, con la participación de diversas entidades y países de la región. Otros proyectos incluyen la promoción de alianzas público-privadas para controlar el cadmio en el cacao, el impulso de la recuperación verde post-pandemia y el fomento de la energía renovable en el departamento del Cauca. Asimismo, se ha trabajado en la formulación de estrategias para el desarrollo sostenible de la región amazónica y se han promovido intercambios de conocimientos entre Colombia y Brasil en agricultura familiar y desarrollo sostenible. Estas iniciativas buscan mejorar la productividad agrícola, fortalecer la resiliencia frente a desafíos como el cambio climático y promover un desarrollo sostenible en la región. In Colombia, the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) has carried out a series of projects aimed at strengthening the capabilities of agricultural producers in various territories. These projects cover areas such as the quality of maize, biosafety in musaceae and antimicrobial resistance. Initiatives include the construction of a safety management system for the corn chain in several departments, benefiting more than 1,000 producers, and training in disease prevention in bananas, benefiting more than 560 farmers. Institutional capacities have also been strengthened in areas such as antimicrobial resistance and pesticide management, with the participation of various entities and countries in the region. Other projects include the promotion of public-private partnerships to control cadmium in cocoa, the promotion of post-pandemic green recovery and the promotion of renewable energy in the department of Cauca. IICA has also worked on the formulation of strategies for the sustainable development of the Amazon region and has promoted exchanges of knowledge between Colombia and Brazil on family agriculture and sustainable development. These initiatives seek to improve agricultural productivity, strengthen resilience to challenges such as climate change and promote sustainable development in the region.
