Bahamas. Significant achievements 2014

The main activities carried out by the Institute in the Bahamas during 2014 are identified, with respect to the needs and interests of the country, strengthening issues such as innovation, technology, aquaponics, livestock, greenhouses, markets, poultry farming, data analysis and resilience against climate change. Likewise, work was done to improve slaughterhouses, orphanages, knowledge management and livestock systems. Finally, it supported the inclusion of women and the value chains of sheep, goats, small ruminants, sweet potatoes, cassava and sweet potatoes.

Se identifican las principales actividades realizadas por el Instituto en Bahamas durante el 2014, con respecto a las necesidades e intereses del país, fortaleciendo en temas como innovación, tecnología, acuaponia, ganadería, invernaderos, mercados, avicultura, análisis de datos y resiliencia contra el cambio climático. Asimismo, se trabajó en mejorar los mataderos, orfanatos, la gestión del conocimiento y los sistemas pecuarios. Finalmente, se apoyó en la inclusión de la mujeres y en las cadenas de valor de ovejas, cabras, pequeños rumiantes, batata, yuca y camote.
