Abstract
Este documento fue desarrollado para proveer información actualizada a productores, asociaciones de industriales y otras personas interesadas sobre el patógeno bacteriano “Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum” (Lso) en las Américas. Lso causa enfermedades en cultivos de solanáceas (papas, tomates, chiles, pimentones y otras especies) caracterizadas por la pérdida foliar, la pérdida de rendimiento y calidad en esos cultivos, incluida la enfermedad más conocida llamada “papa manchada” This documentwas developed to provide updated information to producers/growers, industry associations and interested stakeholders regarding the bacterial pathogen “Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum” (Lso) in the Americas. Lso causes diseases in solanaceous crops (potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and related species), such as the wellknown zebra chip disease in potatoes. These diseases are characterized by foliar dieback and result in yield and quality losses.
