This report presents the conclusions and recommendations of the study regarding the situation of the information system in the agricultural sector of Barbados on behalf of IICA's Multinational Planning Project for the Caribbean. The primary purpose of the study was to carry out a systems analysis of the existing information system in the agricultural sector in order to define users' problems and needs; scope of the present information system; existing resources; guidelines for the installation of a viable information system, and a list of immediate actions for building it. This analysis is intended as a necessary first step in the implementation of a management information system that effectively supports decision making in the agricultural sector. The complete analysis, design and implementation cycle for the information system would also include a general systems design, evaluation and justification, a detailed systems design and, finally a systems implementation.es
