Abstract
Contiene el informe final de un proyecto de cooperación establecido entre la Secretaría de Agricultura, Ganadería y Pesca (SAGP) y el IICA, en el marco del Primer Préstamo Sectorial Agropecuario otorgado por el BIRF a la República Argentina (ARG/86/009 PNUD-BIRF). Este proyecto de cooperación denominado Modernización del Sector Agropecuario Argentino, cuyo financiamiento fue previsto en el componente de asistencia técnica del Primer Préstamo Sectorial, tuvo como objetivo concreto desarrollar un análisis sistemático sobre algunos temas prioritarios para el desempeño futuro del sector agropecuario argentino. Para ello se seleccionaron cinco áreas de estudio, con el fin de elaborar diagnósticos y formular propuestas de política y proyectos de inversión. En este documento se presentan los resultados en forma resumida y en detalle para cada uno de los estudios. Tales estudios fueron: 1) Estudio sobre política de producción, transporte y almacenamiento y embarque de granos; 2) estudio sobre la comercialización de granos y el rol de la Junta Nacional de Granos; 3) estudio sobre la factibilidad técnica, económica y financiera del riego suplementario en la región maicera típica; 4) estudio sobre las perspectivas del desarrollo ganadero argentino y el rol de la Junta Nacional de Carnes; 5) estudio sobre la promoción de exportaciones frutihortícolas argentinas.
