Tubers are an important part of the diet in Jamaica and the surrounding islands. They are one of the largest sources of energy (calories). The most common of these tubers is yam. A manual is presented that describes and explains two propagation methods. A type of technology developed for its reproduction at the field level, by using small pieces of the tuber with a protective solution, obtaining 10 to 20 pieces of each one. However, since this method does not eliminate all diseases, it presents the so-called spread through tissue culture which is carried out in the laboratory. (ACH)
