La tecnología presentada en este material se difunde en atención al interés de organizaciones de productores de Olancho, El Paraíso y Comayagua, Yoro, Occidente y Zona Sur de conocer y adoptar sistemas de riego para poder producir en épocas de verano con los caudales que poseen las fuentes a las que pueden acceder y con ello poder producir frijol y otros cultivos en temporada de veranillo. Se analizó la oportunidad de difundir con el apoyo del proyecto Red de Innovación Tecnológica (RED SICTA –IICA) las ventajas de los sistemas de riego por goteo de baja presión, con miras a satisfacer la demanda de potenciales compradores que requieren de un abastecimiento de producto fresco, de forma continua. Por esta razón se identificó y consideró necesario difundir tecnologías validadas que permitan un mejor aprovechamiento y una mayor eficiencia en el uso del agua para riego
