Navigating the new European Deforestation Regulation: Challenges and Opportunities for Latin America and the Caribbean
Abstract
La investigación aborda los desafíos y oportunidades enfrentados por los países latinoamericanos y del Caribe en relación con la implementación de la Regulación Europea sobre el Comercio de Productos Asociados con la Deforestación.
Estos países desempeñan un papel significativo como proveedores de productos agroalimentarios a la Unión Europea (UE), ya que un porcentaje sustancial de productos como soja, café, aceite de palma, carne de res y madera son importados por la UE.
También, se destaca la reducción de la deforestación en Colombia y Brasil, así como los requisitos y medidas que los operadores deben cumplir para garantizar la trazabilidad de los productos afectados por las regulaciones.
