Abstract
Los impactos del cambio climático son ya evidentes en Centroamérica, y esta situación se podría agudizar en el futuro debido a los cambios esperados en la cuantía y distribución de las precipitaciones y el aumento de la temperatura. Los cultivos alimentarios, como maíz y frijol, son y serán los más afectados; aunque se esperan afectaciones en varios sistemas productivos. Actualmente, la situación de la contingencia por el Covid-19 agrava la situación de inseguridad alimentaria y el riesgo sanitario de los habitantes del CSCA.
La adaptación al cambio climático requiere ajustes profundos en la forma de producción. Sin embargo, se ratifica una brecha en inversión e innovación financiera para promover esta transformación y la adaptación de los sistemas de producción, particularmente en los agricultores familiares. Esto incluye las finanzas rurales y los mecanismos de transferencia de riesgos.
